Gnostic Gospels & Ancient Texts

What are the Gnostic Gospels?

The New Testament is the section of the Bible written after the death of Jesus. It describes the life and words of Jesus and the apostles, and it has been an established collection for over 1,600 years. If you open up any Bible in a bookstore, church, or hotel, you'll likely find the same set of texts, arranged in a similar order. For many, this collection is a complete record of the teachings of Jesus.

However, there are many other texts describing the life and teachings of Jesus and his disciples but which have never been seen inside a New Testament.

These spiritual works describe sayings of Jesus and events of his life that are found nowhere else. They describe spiritual beings, the structure of the cosmos, and the lives of the disciples after the crucifixion. They are Christian writings, and yet many modern Christians have never read or heard of them.

These are the texts known as "Gnostic Gospels."
