  Hi everyone,

I was brought up with the understanding that Judas was a traitor - someone who betrayed Jesus and led to his crucifixion.

With a bit more understanding through studying and practicing Gnosis, I have come to see this story in a new light. It's really profound to consider that was Judas did was actually at the request of Jesus.

Somehow, reading about this perspective in the Gospel of Judas, or in The Flight of the Feathered Serpent, has made me feel - in quite a deep way - that there is something deep and profound going on in life, and a lot more to Christianity than what is normally taught about in churches.

And to consider the incredible sacrifice Judas had to make - to sacrifice his Spiritual Teacher, and his historical reputation for thousands of years - in order to fulfill that mission... I can't even imagine the strength and faith that would be needed to carry out that mission.

Anyway, I'm just glad that there's finally the chance for Judas's story to be heard by the world. It's about time!

  Take care,

  Mike

Hi Mike,

I too am glad the truth is coming out, even if it took humanity thousands of years to get here. It can teach us something about voluntary suffering here, that it does not involve demanding an immediate reward or even acknowledgement. In Judas' own words, let's just do what what we can for the good of humanity without worrying about success or failure but just doing what we can.

Hi Mike,

Very glad to be able to see another perspective about the betrayal of Jesus from the "Flight of the Feathered Serpent" and "The Gospel of Judas." It's so easy to take things for granted based on what has been read and said by other people.

When I was cheated by people, later on, I used to look back and try to see whether there were some sort of "warning signs" which I have neglected, and there were always plenty of them...so each occasion helped me to learn more how and whom to trust.
For me it doesn't make much sense that a spiritual figure of Jesus's caliber won't be able to foresee this sort of betrayal from a person close to him...but what do I really know about Jesus?

It makes a lot of sense that there was a performed cosmic drama with a purpose to pass a teaching of incredible transforming power which would touch the very core of people and stay alive for a long long time.

But "making sense" can be quite misleading, maybe there were some other factors which we just don't know...I wonder, is it possible to really find out why Judas did it and what exactly happened?

Hey Vadim,

Yes, "making sense" is one of the ways we can get trapped in a belief. I think we can find out why Judas did what he did, but I bet the only way to know for sure is through astral experiences and teachings over there.
There are so many things to discover and explore - Judas's role in the Cosmic Drama and everything else :-)

Hi,

The combination of my intuition and intelectual interpretation tells me this: the level of mastery Jesus had allowed him the complete understanding of karma/dharma mechanism. My guess is that Jesus knew that him being killed at that stage of Work would cause massive change in the internal worlds and in people's hearts. Perhaps if he died of natural death then we would have a slightly different world today (a worse one). When important altruistic and charismatic people died a violent death throughout history it did cause a stir more or less. I think this was one true case of martyrdom that was powerfull enough to change people's hearts. Perhaps even to delay cataclismic events because through this sacrifice Jesus showed the hierarchies that there is still chance for humans and that this Earth should be kept as life's playgroud for some time more than initially planned. I think that other figures like Jesus from whose teachings other religions sprouted are here not just to teach us but to buy us more time.
Now why exactly Judas would be someone to take part in such a disturbance in the karma/dharma process is even bigger mystery. Other than the fact that someone who understood the teaching best would actually be able to understand that he is not a killer or a traitor but is there to do something very important. If someone did not understand Jesus completely he/she would definitely hesitate and doubt would smite them hard.

Something I've come to realize slowly through practice, and through reading the works of the Master's is that we all have a Judas inside ourselves. We all have a Christ too, in fact all the apostles. Somehow this incredible drama that was played out by Jesus 2 thousand years ago is something that can occur inside us with The Work. Judas being one of the three traitors (Judas, Caiphas and Pilate), the opposite of the divine triad. I think the true understanding of Judas's role and why it was necessary for him to sacrifice Jesus can be better understood if we can make this drama come alive inside ourselves. But it's its to each person to make this happen and far from an easy task..

All the best with your Work. Much strength.

Hi Andrew

I love what you say about Christ and the disciples being an internal part of our being.
Whenever I'm reading sacred texts I try to understand every word as being something internal, the historionincs of things doesn't matter to me, wether things really happened or not isn't a concern, what matters is can I get a Spiritual message out of the text.
All the best with your advancement my friend.
