Hi everyone,

When I first found Gnosis, I was very curious about the sort of person I would become if I took up the spiritual work in a serious manner. Would I really become a better person? In what ways? Would it be worth it?

Although practice and experience have been my best guides so far (and I'm thrilled with what I have experienced), in terms of looking at the bigger picture and gaining inspiration, I think this book paints a very clear picture of what true spirituality is...

In Book I, the friend of Armando is obviously someone very special. The qualities of love and understanding he exhibits, along with the way he can guide Armando through all those difficulties in the time of the war is amazing. To see the sort of individual Armando's friend (Judas) was gives me an idea of what I can aspire to.

To be able to help others in such a deep way. To have such immense peace even amidst horrible circumstances. And to have such a great knowledge of the state of humanity... It must be incredible.

I think that's the greatest teaching I took from the first part of the book.

Best,

Mike

Hi Mike

When I read your post, a line from the book comes to my mind, describing the friend of Aramando: “He was a smile from head to toe. He didn't smile, he didn't need to smile; He was that smile all over.”

And this would be something well worth becoming, wouldn't you say ;-)

Regards

Mattias

Hi everyone,

' To be the smile itself..' and communicate that in our gesture, actions, all interactions... What a nice thing to become. A being of love! A loving friend, colleague, teacher student, parent instead of being the one who causes the pain in others and ultimately in ourselves.

I remenber when I opened the book the first time,I was filled with this sense of lightness and felt like I was there with him and experienced it and never stopped wanting to feel like that all the time.

What a pleasant objective to have!

Sure an nice read, although the last 2 parts need more study then just reading.
The more I practice the gnostic teachings, the more I feel like understanding these words...
Like when reading it after a year or so, new things just appear.
